Gauze Pink & Navy Pants to work

Sometimes even better than finding a guy that's dateable is finding a girl worth being close friends with. I find it tough to venture outside the "girls I lunch with" as M calls it (she's my bestest) since I've been with them for the past 9 years and they are my core hangout group, but I've recently moved and while I'm not far away... it's far enough to make it difficult to spend as much time with them as I used to in the past. But I started a new rotation at the beginning of the month and made a new girlfriend. She's pretty amazing and I just want to say I'm glad I met her.

Below is my "work" OOTD and I have to say that S, my new girlfriend, dresses super cute as well for work! I know I don't post much work-related outfits, but that's because they are kind of uninspired, but S is making me realize there's no reason not to dress cute all the time even when there are work limitations.

Cardigan :: Gap
Top :: Gap
Bottom :: Joseph
Shoes :: Joie
Bag :: J.Crew

I tend to shop at Banana Republic, Loft, J.Crew, and Gap for my work clothes. As you can see, the outfit above is mainly Gap, with a splash of Joseph and Joie. I have to say, I do like to try and spice up my work outfit with my shoes or my top because slacks and cardigans are pretty much my mainstay. My go-to work bag at the moment is my J.Crew takeaway tote which I got off Ebay for $38 and I've been pretty satisfied with it. There aren't many compartments which is annoying; however, it's big enough and light enough and cheap enough that I don't feel bad about letting it sit on a hospital or clinic floor like I do when I lug my Longchamp to work.

I openly admit I like solid colors and simplicity, but that doesn't mean I don't like details. What makes this top more than a casual tank is the gauze detail that is overlaid so nicely on the front. The top itself is a pretty pale pink, which is flattering against a host of neutral colored slacks. Today I chose navy and my Joseph slack fit really well on me.

Last, but not least is my Joie flats. I love these for their details and I got them for a terrific price from Shopbop last year. $67!!! They are very comfy as the leather is soft and forgiving. Aren't they lovely?

What do you wear for work?
